roothide Bootstrap on iOS 16

Install and use roothide Bootstrap on iOS 16.x. Full support for A8-A16 and M1/M2.

iOS 16 Support

roothide Bootstrap supports iOS 16.0 through iOS 16.x (all minor versions in the 16 range). Combined with supported devices, this includes iPhone 6 (A8) through iPhone 14 Pro Max (A16), and corresponding iPads and M1/M2 devices.

Installation on iOS 16

  1. Install TrollStore on your iOS 16 device using the method that supports your exact version (check TrollStore documentation).
  2. Ensure TrollStore is 2.0.9 or later for developer mode support.
  3. Download Bootstrap.tipa from GitHub releases (or build from source).
  4. Transfer the file to your device and install via TrollStore.
  5. Open the Bootstrap app and follow the Usage Guide to enable tweak injection for the apps you want.

iOS 16-Specific Notes

  • 2.0: SpringBoard + daemon injection on iOS 15.8.7, fixes injected system app crashes on iOS 15.0-15.8, and fixes userspace reboot panic on iOS 16.0-16.1.2. See changelog and download.
  • TrollStore: Availability and installation method for TrollStore vary by iOS 16.x version; use the official TrollStore/TrollInstaller resources for your build.
  • Otherwise, usage is the same as on iOS 15 or 17: enable injection per app, use Sileo/Zebra, and convert tweaks with roothide Patcher as needed.
