TrollStore & roothide Bootstrap

Install TrollStore first – it’s required to run roothide Bootstrap on iOS 15–17.

What is TrollStore?

TrollStore is a permanent app installer for iOS that uses a CoreTrust bug to install and run apps without re-signing. It is not a jailbreak – it allows you to install apps (like roothide Bootstrap) that stay installed until you remove them.

roothide Bootstrap must be installed as Bootstrap.tipa through TrollStore. TrollStore version 2.0.9 or later is required for roothide Bootstrap, as that version supports enabling developer mode on-device.

Why TrollStore is Required

  • roothide Bootstrap is distributed as a .tipa file and is installed via TrollStore.
  • Developer mode (TrollStore 2.0.9+) is used for enhanced bootstrap functionality.
  • Without TrollStore, you cannot install the bootstrap on a non-jailbroken device.

iOS Support for TrollStore

TrollStore support depends on your iOS version:

  • iOS 15.0–16.x: Various installation methods (e.g. TrollInstaller, other helpers) – check the official TrollStore documentation for your exact version.
  • iOS 17.0 only: TrollStore can be installed using TrollRestore (computer required). iOS 17.0.1 and later have the CoreTrust bug patched; only specific 17.0 builds (e.g. 21A326, 21A327, 21A329, 21A331) are supported.

Always confirm your iOS version is supported by TrollStore before attempting to install roothide Bootstrap. See Supported Devices for bootstrap compatibility.
